Virtual snowball fight helps raise awareness for One Warm Coat

To spread awareness for One Warm Coat, Avon-based marketing agency Adams & Knight is launching Snowcial, an interactive game that allows users to lob virtual snowballs at friends on Facebook.

The goal is to top the Guinness Book of World Records for the largest snowball fight with 5,834 participants — virtually. Once that goal is reached, Adams & Knight will donate $5,000 to One Warm Coat to support its mission.

“We are delighted to have Adams & Knight partner with our organization in such a creative way,” said Jennifer Stockard, president of One Warm Coat. “Not only is the snowball fight a fun way to interact with friends and colleagues on Facebook, it also generates awareness for our mission. Adams & Knight’s generous donation allows our organization to ‘share the warmth’ by working to provide warm coats to anyone in need. It’s a win-win for everyone involved.”

“We were pleased to donate our development of this social media campaign,” said Jill Adams, chief executive officer of Adams & Knight. “We hope this lighthearted competition among Facebook friends will stir interest in One Warm Coat and the work they do with local agencies to provide free warm coats to children and families in need.”

To increase the enjoyment of the game, the agency designed virtual snowballs to simulate actual snowballs, which include Traditional, New Englander (full of pine cones and leaves), Mom-Approved (light and fluffy), Slushball (wet and gloppy), and Iceball (rock hard).
