The Hartford Courant was launching a new lifestyle publication, CT Slant. It was entering a fairly competitive marketplace, alongside already established newsstand favorites like Hartford Magazine and Connecticut Magazine. The publishers turned to Adams & Knight to help differentiate CT Slant and attract attention in the Greater Hartford region.
CT Slant was all about aspiration, offering access to the best dining, shopping and lifestyle experiences in the Hartford, Connecticut area. So we created an aspirational spokesperson: Señor Slant. For a 3-inch-tall figurine, he sure got around . . . and was able to offer his sophisticated expertise on everything from great local restaurants to finding the best fashion deals. He was the Most Interesting Man in the World . . . years before he was selling beer.
