It’s impossible to ignore the role of content creators today. But as demand swells, the field of influencers and the platforms to find them are becoming more fragmented. The creators who genuinely tell the stories of how great it is to live, work, and play in Connecticut were struggling to find the right organizations to partner with, while Connecticut businesses needed help finding creators who could authentically engage their audiences. The Connecticut Office of Statewide Marketing & Tourism (SMT) benefits from any of these influencers telling any of the business’s good stories. So, they needed a simple, specific, and proprietary influencer marketing platform for both sides to find each other.

Idea

To simplify this “matchmaking” process, we partnered with SMT to build a centralized, interactive platform where creators and organizations can easily connect in one place. Creators can sign up for free and build a profile that highlights their preferred platforms, content focus, travel preferences, and audience demographics. On the flip side, businesses can browse and discover trusted creators who align with their audiences and goals – transforming what once was a time-consuming search into a streamlined, purposeful collaboration tool.

Organizations can quickly browse creators and see a preview of their content, reach, and a list of their platforms in one place.

Creators can sign up in minutes by entering their name, contact information, and social media handles. From there, site admins review and approve any new creator registrations.

From lifestyle to food to travel and tourism, creators of all sizes are already signing up.

Approved creators can add a short bio, share their pricing, and provide details about their audience demographics. 

Impact

Without any paid media support and just a single sold out launch event, the platform has gained traction quickly. In less than four months, it generated more than 12,500 visits and attracted 175 verified content creators, with another 120 waiting to be added. It’s already proving to be a win-win, connecting businesses with authentic storytellers and turning those connections into real economic impact within the state and beyond.
