Adams & Knight Receives Three Mark of Excellence Marketing Awards
AVON, Conn. (March 21, 2006) — The American Marketing Association’s (AMA) Connecticut chapter recently honored Adams & Knight (A&K) with the 2006 Marketer of the Year Award—its top award—and three Mark of Excellence Awards (MOE) for its work with United Way of the Capital Area, Wadsworth Atheneum Museum of Art, and Travelers.
A&K previously received AMA’s 2005 Marketer of the Year Award for its work with Masonicare.
“We are honored to be recognized as Marketer of the Year for the second time in a row,” said Jill Adams, principal of A&K. “This recognition is a testament to the collaborative approach we take with each of our clients to achieve their goals with strategic marketing programs.”
A&K received the Marketer of the Year Award for the marketing campaign it created to help achieve the 2005 goal of United Way of the Capital Area (UWCA) to raise $26 million—funds that will be used to improve the lives and conditions of the 40 north central Connecticut towns it serves.
A&K worked with UWCA’s marketing and communications staff to develop a well-coordinated campaign of videos, TV public service announcements, printed materials, posters and outdoor billboards. It brought UWCA’s campaign theme—Giving Matters—to life by communicating the thoughts and experiences of actual United Way beneficiaries.
“During 2005 there were many deserving causes making appeals to our generous public,” said Mildred McNeill, director of marketing and communications for UWCA. “Many global natural disasters made it an especially challenging season for fundraising. Adams & Knight created a campaign that focused on our success in addressing local needs resulting in the most successful marketing campaign our organization has ever experienced. We surpassed our goal and raised more than $27 million—the largest amount in our 81-year history.”
Additionally, A&K received three AMA MOE awards including one for the UWCA campaign.
A second MOE award was received for the interactive Web site A&K developed for the Wadsworth Atheneum Museum of Art. As a result, the Antheneum experienced a 264 percent increase in Web site traffic, and a 62 percent increase in attendance at the museum.
A&K also received an MOE award for its Sara Under Siege campaign, a series of animated, online webisodes. The campaign informed Travelers auto insurance CSRs and independent agents about its Quantum Auto insurance. As a result, Travelers’ auto policy sales more than doubled for an unprecedented 106 percent increase.
